All aspects of cosmetic and general dentistry are provided.  Keep in mind that "Quality" dental care can only be accomplished in a "healthy" environment.  It is imperative, therefore, to do whatever is necessary to get our patients as healthy as they can be.  No dentist is able to properly restore an unhealthy mouth.  Since health is a process of participation, the patient has a large role to play in reaching their goals. You can see a variety of before and after pictures of some of the services mentioned on this page done by Dr. Quevedo by visiting our Photo Gallery.

We offer a full range of Hygiene Services, including Prophylaxis (Regular "Cleanings"), Sealants, and Periodontal care.  The heart and soul of our practice is our Dental Wellness program.  This system is designed  to help our patients get healthy, and learn how to stay that way.  It is also a communication tool that lets you know "where you're at", and "where you're headed" in a totally non-judgmental, objective way.

So how do we begin? Find out more about our New Patient Examination process by clicking here.
To find out more about our ability to test for and treat caries (the bacterial infection that causes tooth decay)  click here.

Periodontal Treatment (Gum disease)- This is one of the most common ailments know to man.  It has been estimated that over 75% of all adults have periodontal disease in one of it's stages.  It is a chronic, insidious, slow moving infection that causes the destruction of the support tissues around the tooth. At your initial comprehensive examination, you will be checked for this, and our wellness program will be explained to you.  We will check to see whether or not the factors that cause this disease are present or not, and if so, to what degree.  The secret to a healthy future is removal of 100% of all bacterial plaque from all surfaces of all the teeth at least once in every 24 hour period of time.  This requires involvement/participation from the patient.  A major ingredient in our periodontal therapy regimen is the RotaDent.  Patients who get used to the "just had my teeth cleaned" feeling the RotaDent gives them never go back.  They're wonderful!

For our patients with moderate to severe periodontal conditions...we have the amazing Periolase!  In contrast with traditional periodontal surgery, there's no need to flap the gum tissue back and trim the jawbone with the drill.  With the Periolase there's no scalpel, no sutures, no pain!

High Tech/Light Touch - Click here to look at some of the cutting edge technologies we have in our office, including the amazing Waterlase all-tissue laser, the Cerec 3D cad/cam system, and Invisalign.

Cosmetic Dentistry- Take a look here for more details about what's available, including tooth whitening, our Cerec 3D technology, and the incredible Invisalign system.  Invisalign is the invisible way to straighten your teeth without braces! Please note that in the past, the fee for Invisalign treatment was "all or nothing."  In other words, the fee was the same whether your needs were minor or major.  We now have the added option of Invisalign Express, which lets us treat minor cases at half the normal fee.

Are You Sometimes 'Headachy'?  Do You Suffer From Tension, Or Even Migraine Headaches? Have We Got A Miracle For You! -- You may have heard Diane Sawyer on Good Morning America discuss this on TV lately...or maybe you saw Fox35 Orlando interview Dr. Quevedo about NTI's.  Click the Fox35 logo to see it. It’s the new miracle that can eliminate most of your headaches – even migraines.  In fact, this little miracle is approved by the FDA specifically for the prevention of migraine headaches.  The FDA found its success rate to be roughly double that of the best medicine you can take.  It’s a very simple little appliance that snaps onto your upper front teeth.  You comfortably wear it only while you sleep.  It has been proven to relax the muscles and reduce the majority of your headaches, and make any headaches you do get much less severe. If this could help change your life, call us right away. It’s fast, very easy, and not even expensive.  Dr. Quevedo can now provide the new NTI Appliance. To find out more about the NTI-tss splint for treatment of migraine, and other severe headaches, click on the NTI-tss links.  You can close that window when you're done and return to our site.

Did you know that Oral Cancer is one of the 10 most common cancers? -- Dr. Quevedo is concerned that treatment of oral cancer has not improved in the last 40 years. Despite advances in surgery, radiation and chemotherapy, the average five-year survival rate for oral cancer is still only about 50%. This is because of the difficulty diagnosing it early.  He has discovered a revolutionary early detection system called the brush biopsy.   We are now able to simply rub a special brush on any white or red area of the mouth to find if it is something that could become oral cancer in the future.  It’s fast, easy, and most importantly, it could save your life!

Fillings- We place primarily composite resin or porcelain fillings instead of amalgam (mercury-silver) fillings.  Before and after pictures can be seen here.  Silver has been around for over 150 years, and billions have been placed around the globe in that time.  However, silver does have some significant disadvantages:

  1. They corrode over time, turning both the filling and the tooth black.

  2. They have a tendency to chip and crack around the edges, which allows leakage to occur.  When this happens, the entire filling has to be drilled out, making the cavity preparation a little bit bigger each time.  Composite resin can be repaired and/or added to with a minimal amount of tooth loss.

  3. More healthy tooth structure has to be removed with silver as compared to composite.

  4. The prep design required for an amalgam can sometimes cause the filling to act like a "wedge" (splitting the tooth in two), which causes internal cracks to form, weakening the tooth.

  5. They provide absolutely no support to the tooth whatsoever.

  6. The EPA forbids the disposal of dental amalgam into the trash can since it is classified as toxic waste.  If it's not safe enough for the trash can, I'd rather not place it in your mouth!

  7. A major manufacturer of silver in America (the Caulk company) has advised dentists to avoid placing silver fillings in pregnant or nursing mothers, kids under the age of 7, and people with kidney disease.

These are a few of the reasons why we no longer offer amalgam (mercury-silver) fillings in our practice.

Do you have Sensitive Teeth? -- If you, or one of your family members has sensitivity to cold foods or drinks, sweets, acidic fruit, the touch of a tooth with the toothbrush, or simply sensitivity when you even breathe in cold air, then we can help.   Dr. Quevedo has been frustrated about dentistry’s inability to adequately treat sensitive teeth.  He has searched for the answer for years, and has now discovered an incredible treatment that is quick, easy, and only takes seconds to apply.  And it’s not even expensive.

Gold or Porcelain Onlays (a partial coverage crown) - For restorations in back teeth too large to fill, but too small to warrant placing a full crown, these are excellent choices.  I've seen gold onlays 50+ years old in the mouth that looked like they were placed 5 years ago.  There isn't a finer, longer lasting restoration than a well done gold onlay.  If esthetics is a primary concern for you, then you may want to consider a porcelain onlay as mentioned in the Cosmetic Dentistry section above.

Root Canal Therapy- This is probably the most misunderstood procedure in dentistry!  When you have a bad toothache, or an exposed pulp (nerve), extraction is no longer necessary.  The source of the problem is the infected (or inflamed) pulp, not the tooth itself.  Root canal therapy is the process of removing this pulp tissue from the tooth, and then placing a filling material in the canal passageways where the pulp used to be.  This seals the canal system of the tooth and helps prevent reinfection from occurring.  The secret to success is good anesthesia.  If you're truly numb, you won't feel anything, no matter what the procedure is.  Therefore, we make sure you're numb!  The vast majority of my patients report a relatively painless experience.  In the past, achieving complete sterility in the canal system of the tooth was a problem due to the limitations of the liquid disinfectants we had available for our use.  Now...with lasers (such as the Waterlase MD) to help us sterilize the canals before filling/sealing them, we can now go beyond mere "disinfection" of the canals.

Crowns- Sometimes referred to as a "cap" by the lay person, the crown encircles and encloses the tooth.  It slides down over the tooth (like a cap on your head) and is cemented or bonded in place.  Whenever 50% or more of the tooth structure is gone, a crown is typically the restoration of choice.  If there's not enough tooth structure to encircle and surround a filling, then you need a restoration that will surround and support the tooth.  Crowns can be either all metal, porcelain fused to metal, or all porcelain.  The primary advantage to all porcelain crowns besides their beauty is that many times we can make them for you in a single visit without impressions or temporaries.  This means you're only numbed once!  There's no second visit needed to complete the case so you minimize time off from work too!  (See the cosmetic section under Porcelain crowns).  We do not use any non-precious metals in our crowns.

No Gagging Here – Really! -- Have you been told you need dental work, but just can't stand the thought of those uncomfortable and gagging impressions?  Dr. Quevedo has discovered something called the Mach-2 Laminar Impression Technique.  The impression material used with this technique has absolutely no taste.  The impression is very small and sets in less than 90 seconds.  The large trays that make so many patients gag are not necessary because the impression material is like a fluffy mousse (not runny like many impression materials).  This tasteless fluffy impression material can barely be felt in the mouth, so gagging is not experienced.  And the accuracy of the technique is unsurpassed in dentistry.  For all-ceramic crowns or fillings done with Cerec, the impression is ‘optical’ using a high-tech 3D camera!  So if you’ve been putting off necessary dental treatment because of fear of gagging, you don’t have to worry any more.  We still need the full arch trays for multiple crowns or bridgework, but for single crowns, this technique is great!

Surgery-  We perform simple extractions, and minor gum/bone surgeries.  As mentioned above, we also are certified to perform Laser Periodontal Therapy...a surgical procedure that doesn't involve scalpels or sutures.  Impacted wisdom teeth are referred to an oral surgeon.

Removable prosthetics-  Both full and partial dentures.  We do not make quickie "one size fits all" dentures in one day.  We only make quality, fully characterized dentures.  We spend more time getting the master impression than many "clinics" spend making the entire denture.
