High Tech Care
We are proud to announce the addition of the amazing Periolase MVP-7 to our practice. The first in our area!

Laser
Periodontal Therapy™ is a laser based technique for the treatment of periodontal
(gum) disease using the Millennium Dental Technologies, Inc., PerioLase®
Laser. Fear of periodontal treatment vanishes when patients find out no scalpel
or sutures will be used. Patient friendly laser treatment gets patients healthy
again comfortably...without fear....
Over the years we have referred many patients to the periodontist (a specialist who treats gum/bone disease) for surgery, and most of them never followed through. They had heard of the discomfort involved with that type of surgery. The dramatically increased comfort for our patients made this new system attractive to our office. We do encourage patients to take care of the need now to reduce further damage to their gums, teeth and bone.
Our office is the first in the Longwood, Sweetwater, Altamonte Springs,
Maitland, Winter Park, & Apopka areas to offer Laser Periodontal Therapy™
for the treatment of gingivitis and/or periodontitis.
If you have been told you have
moderate to severe periodontal disease...and especially if you have been
referred to a specialist for surgery....we would like to encourage you to
consider the more comfortable laser alternative. For more
information on the procedure, please click here.

We also
have the
amazing Waterlase MD all-tissue laser !
In
combination with an air/water spray, the Waterlase dental
laser is able to replace the dreaded SHOT for routine dental care in many instances.
(See the before and after photos below). Since
there is no heat or vibration from the Waterlase, the need for anesthetic (THE
SHOT) is eliminated in most cases! Pain free dentistry is here! Although
the laser can't remove metal restorations, we can use it to numb the tooth prior
to removing old silver fillings with the drill as shown here. The Waterlase leaves a
cleaner surface for bonding procedures than the drill does, and so bonded
restorations last longer. We can also do a wide variety of surgeries on
gum tissue as well as the bone. The Waterlase is great for treating fever
blisters and canker sores, too! Immediately takes away the pain and they
heal up in half the time.
The
revolutionary Cerec
3D is a
technological wonder! We can make most porcelain crowns, onlays (a partial
coverage crown), inlays (a porcelain filling), and veneers in a single
visit. These restorations rival the durability of gold in 10 year studies and are extremely
beautiful. This provides many benefits:
You're only numbed once, in some cases you won't have an old fashioned gooey impression, you
don't have to wear a temporary, & you minimize time taken off from
work. Cerec is an acronym for Chairside Economical Restoration of
Esthetic Ceramics. To see the amazing Cerec 3D in action, click
here. You can see some before and after photos in our
Photo Gallery.
Invisalign is a great new way to invisibly straighten your teeth without having to wear metal braces! Using a high-tech computer, models of your teeth are scanned and a series of clear, removable, custom-made Aligners are made for you. Since there is no metal, no brackets, and no arch wires...they're very comfortable! You wear each set of Aligners for about two weeks, removing them only to eat, drink, brush, and floss. Your teeth will move gradually each week. Total treatment time averages from 6-15 months, with visits about every six weeks. Do you only have just a few teeth that are crooked or have gaps? With Invisalign Express we can correct these minor orthodontic needs at half the normal fee.

Which would you rather
have?
The choice is
obvious!
Yes, our office is State of the Art, with intraoral video to let you see and understand your dental needs more clearly. Our LCD flat screen monitors are mounted on poles that swing around the side of the chair, allowing us to swivel or pivot the screen for easy viewing of your intra-oral images, digital x-rays, or other video sources such as cable TV, VCR, or DVD player. This makes viewing patient educational films a snap!
We are
totally digital! Our state of the art Planmecca digital panoramic x-ray
allows us to see your entire upper and lower jaws with amazing clarity!
We are even able to sometimes detect hidden plaques clogging up the patient's
carotid arteries. In these rare instances, we can help the patient prevent
serious consequences in a very non-invasive way.
Our DenOptix digital x-ray system reduces radiation exposure
by up to 90%!
But the best part is that it's wireless. The imaging plates for DenOptix look just like normal x-ray film, only they're flexible, thinner, and therefore more comfortable. With DenOptix, I'm able to measure the length of a root canal, measure the precise angulations of a tooth that has drifted, and also look at the teeth in 3-D.
With both of these technologies we can:
Submit your x-rays or intraoral video images electronically when filing your insurance claim.
E-mail either type of image to you, a specialist, your insurance company, or whomever else you desire the images to be shared with.
Print out a "hard copy" on paper.
Put your images on a diskette to take with you if you're moving out of state.
We don't have a darkroom in our office. We don't have to deal with hazardous chemicals associated with normal dental films. The exposed imaging plate is placed on the carousel shown above, and then placed into the DenOptix. Once the lid is closed, the carousel spins very rapidly, and a laser scans the image and digitizes it.
The Vita
EasyShade makes difficult shade matching a snap!
Matching
shades has always involved a high degree of subjectivity. Not everyone see
colors the same. Some have more color acuity than others. Matching a
single tooth to it's neighboring teeth isn't such a difficult task anymore!
The VITA EasyShade is a simple-to-use point and click digital spectrophotometer
that provides instant dental shade readouts regardless of the lighting
conditions. The VITA EasyShade helps clinicians and technicians to achieve
optimal matched shaded restorations.
The
Sterilox keeps the water flowing through our water lines pure, and free of
BIOFILMS!

You
may have heard about the dangers of biofilms before. Basically, they are
large colonies of bacteria that form a sticky glue-like matrix that shields and
protects them from antibiotics and most sterilants. Over time, even when
distilled water is used, they will form in the miles of plastic tubing found in
all dental units. A small amount of Sterilox concentrate is all it takes
to kill all of the bacteria that may be present, and prevent the formation of
any biofilms in our water lines.
The Laser Scanner finds ultra-small cavities years earlier!

If you are like most of us, you’ve had the dentist find a cavity, place a rather
large filling, and you’ve wondered why the filling is so large if the cavity
wasn’t there just six months before.
The answer is that the cavity was there six months before — it just
wasn’t big enough to show on x-rays, and it wasn’t visible to the dentist
yet.
The
greatest advance in dental diagnostics since the x-ray, the new Laser
Scanner can now find cavities years earlier, when the ultra-small cavity can be
removed very
comfortably, and repaired with a small invisible bonded filling.
